Christmas Essential Oils For Your Farmhouse
Written by Ann Dragt
There’s no better time to ensure that you have a great-smelling home than when you’re huddled indoors during the cold months around Christmas. You can even curate each room to have a unique Christmas scent by testing which essential oils work best for your farmhouse.
Christmas Essential Oils: Cypress and Bergamot
Cypress and bergamot will complement any room with a Christmas tree in it, such as your living room. Whether your tree is faux or live, these essential oils will bring your farmhouse a complex air of the outdoors.
Christmas Essential Oils: Peppermint
Peppermint essential oil can combine with a variety of other oils to create different feelings for your farmhouse. For an instant hit of Christmas air, try combining it with a few drops of lemon in your entryway. Or, if you’re trying for a more subtle mint smell, combine it with rosemary or eucalyptus essential oil.
Nutmeg
The warmth of a spicy essential oil like nutmeg would work well in a farmhouse kitchen. Combine it with an oil like mandarin for a citrus undertone, or with cinnamon to pack an extra spicy punch.
Amyris
If you’re interested in investing in only a single Christmas essential oil, amyris is a good pick. In addition to having a woodsy smell, amyris also contains layers of sweetness and citrus, making it a versatile scent fit for any room in your farmhouse.
Frankincense
Frankincense is a great Christmas essential oil, perfectly suited for a bedroom. Its soft smell pairs well with lavender, creating a more subtle wood scent.
