A Warm & Cozy Holiday Guest Room

Add festive charm to your holiday guest room with these tips from our 2023 Brand Ambassador.
Magic is in the air! When guests come to stay for the holidays, bring that magic to life by styling their bedroom. I layered our guest bedroom in the colors of Christmas with bedding from carol & frank, which is handcrafted in India.
Holiday Guest Room Step 1: Comforter
I started with the carol & frank Midge Quilt, which is hand-stamped with a carved wood block. I loved adding a fun quilt or comforter in neutral gray and cream tones for a cozy winter outdoor feel.
Holiday Guest Room Step 2: Pillows
Since I started with a neutral base, I could have fun with throws. These green and red hand-woven Hodges and Oriana pillows from carol & frank pull in those traditional Christmas tones.
Layering throw pillows can be a struggle. Over the years, I’ve found a tip that helps: the “2,2,3 or 1 rule.” Start with the two pillows you sleep on. Next, add two shams that match your comforter. Finally, if you have three square pillows, layer them in the front. For our guest bed, I did two greens behind a red pillow. Alternately, you could place one long pillow in the very front.
Holiday Guest Room Step 3: Accessories
I finished out this space with a twinkling Christmas tree and a chunky Morgan Merry Throw from carol & frank.
Making the spaces in our home cozy for the holidays is what brings out that magical Christmas joy we think about all year long.

I’m Jessica, but mostly everyone knows me as Itty Bitty Farmhouse! A small town girl from a smaller NC town that loves a good DIY project, flea market pickin’ trip, and a Pinterest-loving junkie. My love for all things vintage started from a child. Over the years, I've developed a love and passion for styling old homes, DIY projects, and blogging about all the adventures. Through my creatives and projects, my goal is to inspire others to brave those nerves and make your home your dream home. Sharing my love and passion, I have been lucky to achieve many of my dreams I never knew I wanted until I picked up a power tool and camera to capture 3 years ago to capture it all!
