DIY Holiday Décor with Wallpaper Scraps
Use your wallpaper scraps for low-maintenance and luxe holiday décor.
Did you recently wallpaper a room and have an awkward amount of extra? Thanks to the folks at Little Greene, we have some ideas for ways you can use your wallpaper scraps for beautiful holiday décor.
Paper Chain
I was reading the delightful story “A Christmas Memory” by Truman Capote, and was reminded that in the past when it came time to decorate for Christmas, you didn’t run out to the mall or dig through your storage bins. In the short story, they used colored paper, tinfoil and string to make ornaments. You made your holiday decor yourself, and could take pride in the final results. Hearkening back to those handmade holiday decor days, you can use your wallpaper scraps to create classic paper chains. Except with the thickness of the paper and designer patterns and colors, it will be a DIY holiday decor touch with a luxe quality.
Wrapping Paper
Use your wallpaper scraps to wrap Christmas presents. You could even wrap empty boxes of varying sizes and use them for a holiday vignette at home. Of course, ribbon and a sprig of something never hurts.
You could also cut the scraps as DIY gift tags. Cut the wallpaper into small squares, use a single hole punch so that you can tie the tag to the present with thin ribbon.
