Christmas décor isn’t just for the rooms your guests can see. Blogger Holly Jolley of Home With Holly J brings the festive feel of the holiday season into the bedroom suite of her Highland, Utah home. While she decorated the rest of her home in a traditional red and green theme, here she chose to play off of the shades of blue already present in the space for her Christmas bedroom.

Christmas Bedroom Centerpiece

festive bedroom blue and gold theme — Rather than reinvent the color palette, Holly took the colors present and made them the theme of her holiday décor. “This was not traditional in any way but I really like doing something different in my Christmas bedroom,” she says.

The tree serves as the centerpiece in this Christmas bedroom. It creatively reflects the surrounding design while adding a holiday twist. “I wanted the tree to match the bedding and the other colors in the room,” Holly says. “I also added in a dark mustard color with some of the accents and tied those colors into the tree as well.” Due to the very dry climate in Utah, she invested in high-quality faux greenery to keep the festive look throughout the season. That way she doesn’t have to worry about her Christmas tree becoming dry and unsightly before the season is over.

Cozy Vibes

Holly also utilized some of the architectural features to enhance the warm and inviting feel in the décor of the Christmas bedroom. “I love the vaulted ceilings and the wallpaper, and the room has a lot of windows which let in so much light,” she says. “There’s also a fireplace which makes the room extra cozy, and I decided to decorate the mantel this year for the first time.”

In the spacious bathroom, Holly’s elegant farmhouse style takes a turn towards classic black and white. This complements whatever color scheme she decides to use in her Christmas bedroom. The marble floors also grace the entryway downstairs, reflecting design cohesion. “The black accents in the middle of the white marble tile helps break up the white,” she says. The bathroom has 10-foot ceilings, gold details and a predominately white palette. This complements the large windows letting in lots of natural light, and give the Christmas bedroom and bathroom a bright, airy and sophisticated feel.
