The 2023 Brand Ambassador

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, style-savvy individual who wants to build a relationship with the AFS audience as an authority and resource for farmhouse design.

The role is designated for the year 2023. Due to the American Farmhouse Style print publishing schedule, this role will start September 21, 2022.

Benefits:

The American Farmhouse Style Brand Ambassador for 2023 will receive the following:

  • Regular column in the American Farmhouse Style print magazine for 2023 (6 issues) and online at americanfarmhousestyle.com.
  • Small styling and floral stipend to spend on each column
  • Free products from our advertisers for styling, photoshoots and content creation.
  • Regular promotion across AFS digital platforms, including the website, Instagram, newsletters, Facebook, and Pinterest.
  • Free subscription to American Farmhouse Style Magazine
  • Collaboration opportunities with AFS editorial and marketing, including giveaways, social media takeovers, and other audience outreach.

Qualifications:

  • Must personally use farmhouse style decor in their home and projects.
  • Able to take high-quality, print-worthy images
  • Able to tell stories to AFS readers with a fresh and authentic perspective that delivers on a personal level.
  • Must reliably produce and deliver original work on schedule.
  • Must disclose current sponsorships and endorsements.

Agreement Period

The 2023 Brand Ambassador role starts September 21, 2022 due to the production schedule for the first issue of 2023. The role ends December 31, 2023, provided the contract is not terminated earlier for issues listed below.

By entering into this contest, you are committing to a one-year contract with Engaged Media as Brand Ambassador, if selected.

Brand Ambassador Deliverables

Items listed below are the core focus of the American Farmhouse Style 2023 Brand Ambassador:

  • 1 article (text and images) per issue (6 total) to appear in the Brand Ambassador’s personal column in the 2023 issues of American Farmhouse Style Magazine.
  • Promotion for AFS content on Brand Ambassador’s social media platforms at least 1x monthly.
  • Sponsored content production as required.

Grant of Rights

As a Brand Ambassador contestant, you agree not to submit any content that (1) is defamatory, abusive, libelous, unlawful, obscene, threatening, harassing, fraudulent, pornographic, or harmful, or that could encourage criminal or unethical behavior, (2) violates or infringes the privacy, copyright, trademark, trade dress, trade secrets or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, or (3) contains or transmits a virus or any other harmful component.

You agree not to contact other Site users through unsolicited e-mail, telephone calls, mailings or any other method of communication.

As a Brand Ambassador contestant, you represent that your submissions are original and your own, and that you agree to allow Engaged Media (publisher) to use your original content, likeness and endorsement in any ads, media, marketing etc. at no cost.  

If at any time it is discovered that your submissions are not your own, you agree to indemnify Engaged Media against any causes of actions against any Engaged Media use of your submissions.  You are and shall remain solely responsible for the content you submit or make during this contest. By submitting any photo or information to Engaged Media for this contest, you represent that the submitted photo or information does not and shall not infringe on any copyright, any rights of privacy or publicity of any person, or any other right of any third party, and you have the right to grant any and all rights and licenses granted to Engaged Media.  Engaged Media and its affiliates take no responsibility and assume no liability for any content submitted by you or any third party. You agree to defend, indemnify and hold Engaged Media harmless from and against all third-party claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) against or incurred by Engaged Media arising out of any submission or content you post to the Site or provide in relation to this contest.

You represent and warrant to Engaged Media that you have the legal right and authorization to submit all content for Engaged Media’s use. Engaged Media shall have a royalty-free, irrevocable, transferable right and license to use your submissions and content in whatever manner Engaged Media desires, including without limitation, to copy, modify, delete in its entirety, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from and/or sell and/or distribute such submissions or content and/or incorporate submissions or content into any form, medium or technology throughout the world. Engaged Media is and shall be under no obligation (1) to maintain any submissions or content in confidence; (2) to pay to you any compensation for any submissions or content; or (3) to respond to any submissions or content. By submitting any photo or information to Engaged Media for this contest, you grant Engaged Media an irrevocable, perpetual and royalty-free right to use, edit, display, transmit, modify, publish and otherwise make use of the submitted photo or other information. In addition to other things, the rights granted to Engaged Media includes but is not limited to the right to resize, crop, censor, compress, edit, feature, caption, and to otherwise alter or make use of the submitted photo.

By submitting your content in consideration of becoming the Brand Ambassador, you grant exclusive and ongoing publishing rights to Engaged Media for all submitted content.  You also grant Engaged Media the right to share, store, publish and/or run targeted ads using your submitted content at any time.  Finally, you agree to allow Engaged Media to post or print any portion of your submission on its website or affiliate websites or print publications.

By entering into this contest, you are agreeing that the information and images collected may be used by Engaged Media and may be published on our website or magazines or any affiliated websites or magazines. Entries submitted for the Brand Ambassador contest are selected entirely at the discretion of Engaged Media. You acknowledge and agree that Engaged Media shall have no obligation to post, display or otherwise make publicly available any photo or information submitted by you, and may, in its sole discretion, remove, edit, modify or delete any photo or information that you submit.

Contract Termination

Engaged Media can terminate the contract at any time. Reasons for contract termination may include, but are not limited to, breach of contract by the Brand Ambassador, a history of difficult communication, continual late or substandard submissions, and words or behaviors in public or private contexts that are deemed inappropriate by the Editor. 

The Editor may cease to publish submissions by an exiting Brand Ambassador who is not in good standing. The Editor also reserves the right to remove any previously published content and bio of the Brand Ambassador who is no longer in good standing. 

Selection Timeline

Entry / Round One:The search to find the American Farmhouse Style 2023 Brand Ambassador commences on July 21, 2022. Entry closes August 21, 2022. Applicants are required to fill out the info form, and provide images of original styling as seen in a bedroom, a tablescape, or an entryway. All entrants will be notified by August 25, 2022.

Round Two: The second round will begin August 26, 2022 and submissions close September 4, 2022. In this round, applicants are required to submit original content (text and images) for a “How To” article / DIY project. Content must not appear anywhere else in print or online.

Choose the project that shows off your natural talents and favorite hobbies, including crafts, DIY projects, upcycled items, etc. We recommend keeping the project easy and accessible. Finalists will be chosen, and all entrants will be notified by September 6, 2022.

Round Three:

Finalists are required to provide Engaged Media (publisher) with rights to publish submitted content. American Farmhouse Style will publish the “How To” / DIY content provided by the finalists in online web articles.

The AFS audience across our platforms will have a chance to cast their votes for the Brand Ambassador. The Brand Ambassador will be selected by American Farmhouse Style staff and notified by September 20, 2022.
