10 Minute Mirror Makeover

Refresh your mirror or picture frame in just minutes with this simple DIY.

Content Creator Ambyr of @livingcountrycottage shares a fun and easy DIY with us.

While this home has a rather strict color palette, it’s filled with texture––shiplap walls, copper frames, wood furniture and crocheted décor pillows are just a few. While shiplap can be costly, the rest of the items are entirely budget-friendly and many are sourced from local shops and flea markets.
This black-and-white patterned couch is a delightful addition to the home. The plaid plays well with the shiplap behind it and the diamond patterned rug below. To further add to the pattern play, Ambyr topped the look with textured décor pillows.
Ambyr collects vintage paintbrushes, but it’s difficult to find brushes that are white, so she painted these brushes white to go with the rest of the vintage-inspired room.

What You’ll Need:

  • DecoArt Extreme Sheen Metallic Paint in Bronze (2 ounces)
  • DecoArt Americana Multi-Surface Satin Paint in Black Tie (2 ounces)
  • Filbert paintbrush

What You’ll Do:

  1. Mix bronze paint (90 percent) and black paint (10 percent) in bowl.
  2. Apply 3–4 coats of paint, until desired color is achieved.
