Our southern, cottage home is located in the coastal small town of Southport, North Carolina. The town has been a backdrop for multiple Nicholas Sparks movies and my husband and I and our two kids absolutely love how quaint and picturesque it is here. Our town is home to the NC 4th of July Festival, so we go all out for Independence Day, and our porch is no exception! We love hosting family and we all gather on our front porch to sip sweet tea and enjoy some shade in the southern heat! I wanted to make our 2001 home feel like a historic farmhouse, so in the past 2 years of living here we’ve painted the exterior white, our porch ceiling southern haint blue, and added a wood porch swing and rockers to relax on most days. Our porch is my favorite place to be!

Our porch is my favorite place in our home. Over the past 16 years, we\'ve lovingly renovated our old farmhouse, this porch has remained a constant peaceful retreat where life seems to slow down. It\'s where I start my mornings with a warm cup of coffee, where I\'ve watched my three boys wrestle and play in the yard, and where countless memories have been made. ?My husband built the porch swing as a Mother\'s Day gift years ago, and it has become one of my most treasured pieces. It\'s the perfect spot to sit awhile, visit with friends, and enjoy the simple beauty of everyday life. My decorating style comes natural. As the owner of a vintage business, I am an old soul through and through. I love collecting timeworn treasures and finding new ways to give them life. If something has a flaw or shows a little wear, all the better in my opinion! I think those imperfections tell a story and add character. The vintage floral trays displayed here have been collected over many years, and I finally found the perfect place to showcase them. I made these pillows from a drop cloth and old quilt blocks. Vintage quilts and linens hold a special place in my heart, and I love layering them to create warmth, texture, and a sense of home. Gathering with friends is one of life\'s greatest joys, and our porch has become the perfect place to do just that. Whether it\'s sharing stories on the swing, lingering over a meal, or sipping sweet tea on a warm afternoon, this space has a way of making everyone feel welcome. And if you ever find yourself in our little rural corner of the world, stop by! There will always be a seat waiting for you on our porch, and a glass of tea ready to share.
